There is a misconception that you can’t lose weight without spending hours in a gym! That is not true. It is possible to lose weight even if you don’t have a gym membership by following these few things:
Staying Active
Staying active doesn’t necessarily mean spending hours in the gym. It just means moving your body. Especially due to the ongoing pandemic, most people spend their entire day in their homes. Students are learning from home and the working professionals are also working from home. Because of this, most people spend their entire day in bed! The body movement has reduced a lot due to this reason which can be extremely unhealthy and dangerous in the long run. That is why people need to stay active. It means doing anything that you love! It can be dancing, swimming, free-hand exercises, yoga, etc. The end goal is to move your body and get rid of that stubborn fat!
No Starving
A lot of people think that dieting is all about eating less. It is not true. It is more about eating correctly! You can still have fulfilling meals and satisfy your cravings and hunger! All you need to do is check what you are eating. Try to refrain from packaged food items and junk. Prepare your meals at home and try to avoid sugary foods. Another thing that you need to keep in mind while dieting is the meal timings. Make sure that you take your meals at the proper time and do not skip any meals, or else it will take a toll on your health.
Cutting Back on Animal Products and Refined Carbs
Refined carbs like white rice, white bread, and pasta contain less fiber and high amount of calories. On the other hand, avoiding carbs fully isn’t a good idea as well! They help you to get energy for doing your day-to-day chores. All you need to do is try to maintain a balance. Take as much carb as needed and avoid consuming it in excess. If your refined carb intake is too high, it will eventually lead to weight gain. Animal products contain high amounts of fat. So, if you consume too many animal products, then that might be another reason to gain weight. Make sure to keep a check on that as well!
Eating Protein
It might sound absurd, but eating protein is a great way to lose weight. Studies suggest that when you eat a lot of protein, it refrains your body from storing excess fat. On the other hand, it encourages your body to store water. It makes your body surrender to water for obtaining energy, rather than surrendering to fat! Include plenty of fruits, beans, almonds, eggs, fish, and chicken in your diet. This will help you to burn fat and will help you in gaining lean muscles.
Drinking a Lot of Water
Believe it or not, drinking water is the easiest way to lose weight. It helps keep your body hydrated, which in turn helps lose weight. If you are on a diet, try drinking water before and after your meals and also before going to bed. If your body is hydrated, it tends to burn weight easily. If you can manage to drink at least 64 ounces of water, then you will see remarkable results for sure. A dehydrated body needs plenty of water to function properly. According to some studies, you can lose around 7 to 10 pounds within a month if you can make a habit of drinking 64 ounces of water daily.
Setting Realistic Goals
Even if it sounds easy, breaking toxic patterns and bad habits is a very difficult thing to do. Try writing down the things that you plan to do and then set realistic goals. You can set goals like “I will eat fruit every day” or “I will lose 4 pounds every week”! It can be anything! Just make sure it is not something impossible or absurd. Because when you set unrealistic goals, you fail to achieve them, making you demotivated. But if you set realistic goals, you will achieve them and it will boost your confidence and motivation.
Exercising before Breakfast
Exercising in the morning is a great way to start your day! It will make you feel amazing and optimistic. On top of that, working out before having your breakfast helps you lose weight. On the other hand, if you do your workout after having your breakfast, it is not going to be that effective. If you are a heavy sleeper who finds it difficult to deal with the laziness and wake up in the morning, try to take a cold shower right after you get up from bed! Try some jumping jacks and do some light stretching before digging into your breakfast.
Keeping a Track of Your Calorie Intake
It is important to create a calorie deficit if you are planning to lose weight. So, you need to reduce your calorie intake, so that your body burns the fat stored in it for getting energy. Many people overlook their calorie intake and just keep exercising aimlessly. Working out will mean nothing if you don’t cut down your calorie intake!
Making Time for Yourself
You should always prioritize your health! Checking on your health when you have a busy schedule might be hard, but you still need to do it anyway. People ignore their health and turn to snacking and munching on junk while working because it saves time. But this can cost you a lot more than you can think of! Preparing meals for yourself, exercising, drinking plenty of water consistently, limiting the carb intake, taking care of the meal timings, etc., might feel like a lot! But you have to prioritize this for your own sake. If you are unhealthy, then what’s the point of working or earning! Take care of your health, and everything will fall into place!
